Reference data — free Commission publications, redistributed with attribution
Everything in data/ is derived from free, publicly available EU legislative sources.
Each dataset records its source, effectiveDate and version so any output can
be traced back to the text it came from.

Standards referenced, not reproduced
The identifier and carrier standards below are referenced by name in metadata only; no copyrighted standard text is reproduced in this repository. The encoders are independent implementations written from the public specification of the symbologies.
- ISO/IEC 15459 — unique identifier scheme for the passport UID.
- ISO/IEC 18004 — QR Code.
- ISO/IEC 16022 — Data Matrix (ECC 200).
- NFC Forum NDEF / ISO/IEC 14443 — NFC data format.

If you redistribute outputs
Keep attribution to the European Commission for the data models and registry specification, and to
the applicable standards bodies for the identifier and carrier standards. Do not treat the contents of
data/ as authoritative — always confirm against the current Official Journal texts and any
implementing or delegated acts published after the dataset effectiveDate.
